Mr. ChuYuejiang, the Deputy General Manager of Pengxin Mining, and other companyleaders gave them a warm reception.

Mr. Chu Yuejiang, on behalf of the company, extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation of the Consul General of South Africa first, and introduced the basic information of the company and the progress and achievements it has made in recent years. He highlighted the strategic positioning, development vision, industrial layout and the on-going business in Africa. Mr. Chu said that the investment environment in South Africa has been improving recently, and the company will take the South Africa as the “beachhead” for the business development in Africa, and based on continuing to develop the existing world-class gold mining assets Orkney Gold Mine, the company will still focus on the exploitation of gold, copper, cobalt, lithium and other metal resources, while paying attention to other synergistic industrial opportunities to seek more cooperation and investment development opportunities, and sincerely hope that the Consulate General of South Africa in Shanghai will continue to support us and do a good job in communication and coordination.

Ms Mpho Hlahla , the Consul General of South Africa in Shanghai, said that as a Chinese enterprise deeply engaged in the investment and development in South Africa, Pengxin Mining has made its own contribution to the economic development of South Africa, and the South African government expressed its gratitude to Pengxin Mining. Meanwhile, the Consulate General of South Africa in Shanghai expressed high recognition of Pengxin Mining’s long-term development strategy from resources exploitation to other industries, and fully believed that the Consulate could serve as the communication bridge between the Chinese and South African governments. In the next stage, both sides should strengthen mutual visits and exchanges to transmit the latest policy information of the South African government in a timely manner on the one hand, while on the other hand, they could have a broader understanding of the needs of Chinese enterprises, including Pengxin Mining, in a more timely manner, so as to make exchange of needed goods and realize win-win cooperation.

As a key partner under the framework of China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative, South Africa has made steady progress in the cooperation in the political, economic and other fields with China, and the bilateral relations have made a great development. In response to the national “going out” strategic call, Pengxin Mining, as one of the pioneering companies engaged in overseas mineral resources investment and development, has been deeply cultivated in South Africa for many years. Through unremitting exploration and development, the company has established an industrial chain with gold mining and mineral processing as its core business in South Africa. In June 2018, Orkney Gold Mine was successfully incorporated into the listed company, and the NO. 7 mine produced gold ore successively as well. Recently, the company will make funds available for the comprehensive production rehabilitation of Orkney Gold Mine, which also shows the firm determination of Pengxin Mining to develop itself in South Africa.

In the future, Pengxin Mining will continue to consolidate its four major business systems including mining production, new materials, trade and finance, and with the courage of the pioneers and explorers, continue to participate in the construction of “One Belt and One Road” by taking the Chinese Dream as its own mission, and to increase investment in Africa and to promote in-depth cooperation in various areas, and commit to serving local social and economic development and the improvement of local people’s lives, so as to contribute to the cooperation and common development of China and Africa in the new era.
