On June 29, thethird China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and China-Africa Economic and TradeCooperation Forum kicked off in Changsha International Convention Center, HunanProvince. This Expo is jointly hosted by the Hunan Provincial People'sGovernment and the Ministry of Commerce, and organized by the Foreign TradeDevelopment Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and the Department of Commerceof Hunan. It is one of the most important exchange activities between China andAfrican countries in the field of economic and trade this year. The theme ofthis expo is " Common Development for a Shared Future", and the expo lastsfor four days. A total of 53 African countries that have established diplomaticrelations with China, 8 international organizations, 30 domestic provinces andcities, and more than 1500 central enterprises, business associations, andfinancial institutions attended the expo.

The China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo is an important mechanism for China-Africa economic andtrade cooperation and an important window for local economic and tradecooperation with Africa. It is of great significance for China to promotehigh-level opening up and build a new development pattern.

The cooperation between Shanghai and Africa is for win-win development. As a local region,Shanghai participated in this expo in the form of joint participation ofenterprises in Shanghai. There are a total of 20 participating enterprises inthis year's Shanghai Image Exhibition Area, covering state-owned groupcompanies and private enterprises in aviation manufacturing, automobilemanufacturing, infrastructure, construction engineering, mining, textile,household chemicals, logistics, food, etc. In recent years, Shanghai has fully implementedthe spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,played a bridgehead role in the construction of the " Belt and RoadInitiative" in accordance with the overall strategic deployment of thecountry, steadily promoted trade exchanges and investment cooperation withAfrica, and achieved good results in trade, investment, projects, training andother aspects of Africa.

Pengxin Mining as an outstanding representative of private enterprises in Shanghai, wasinvited to participate in the expo. During the expo, Pengxin Mining show cased the achievements of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, showcasing themining products of SMCO in the Democratic Republic of Congo and CAPM in South Africa - conglomerate type gold ore, copper (cobalt) oxide ore, and cathodecopper plate.

On the afternoon of the first day of the expo, leaders such as Zhang Xiong, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal Government, and Shen Weihua, Deputy Directorof the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, visited the Shanghai Image Exhibition Hall. They stopped at the Pengxin Mining Booth to gain a deep understanding of the investment and business development of Pengxin Mining in Africa and they expressed affirmative recognition .

The year of 2023 marks the 10^th anniversary of “Belt and Road Initiative” by President Xi Jinping. Under the strategic guidance of leaders from China and African countries, the scale of China-Africa cooperation has been continuously expanding, the fields of cooperation have become more diverse, and the cooperation mechanism has been increasingly improved, achieving fruitful results.
