On June 21, 2021, at the invitation of Mr. Wang Jinding, Chairman of Pengxin Mining, a three-person TFM delegation of CMOC China led by Mr. Wang Hanyuan, a well-known expert on dressing and smelting,and accompanied by Mr. Zhang Shihai and Mr. Yang Bu, paid a study visit to SMCO.

During their visit, the experts visited SMCO’s tailings pond and the site selection of new pond, copper and cobalt smelting production line, etc., and discussed and exchanged opinions with SMCO’s technical and management personnel on the site. The expert group fully affirmed the mature process and product quality of SMCO, and put forward constructive suggestions, including the reconstruction and expansion of the tailings pond, and the increase of CCD thickener countercurrent washing process to reduce the loss of copper and cobalt emissions in tailings, etc.
